President Trump signs the CyberSecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act

President Trump signed into law today the CyberSecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act
of 2018 elevating the former National Programs and Protection Directorate (NPPD) within the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and establishing the Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security
Agency (CISA) to lead the national effort to defend critical infrastructure against today’s threats and
partner with all levels of government and the private sector to secure against evolving future risks.
The DHS press release to “Emergency Communications Partners” is marked as intended for the
“widest possible distribution”.
