The Telecom Birddogs(sm) Firmly Anchored in Midair(sm) Roadmap

These are the directions to understanding and competence for the workforce discipline of developing wireless facilities, that is to take a wireless infrastructure project from a search ring or site acquisition assignment through site search, site selection, project initiation, property acquisition, and permit procurement to the completion of quality real estate entitlements prepared for construction, installation, and/or implementation.

Roadmap Preview

The framework of this Roadmap includes a basic orientation to how and why the wireless industry depends on real estate development activity for growth and the fourteen (14) site development processes of wireless site development. The entire process involves seven (7) progressive Stages or Functional Levels of job responsibility.

Project Coordinator Level Training

The basic orientation is intended to set a novice up to join wireless deployment projects at entry level. This is the Project Coordinator Training Level. There are  six (6) modules in the Project Coordinator Training that serve as an Introduction for anyone interested in a quick look/see of why site acquisition is important. Module 1 is Wireless Industry Structure.

Birddog Level Training

Site Search and Due Diligence generalize the responsibilities of the Birddog Training Level initiated upon the issuance of a site acquisition or search ring assignment. Site Search Due Diligence, the first (1st) of fourteen (14) site development processes includes all of the six (6) modules in the Birddog Training Level.

Project Estimator Level Training

Developing analytical information to enable members of the project team to choose the best location for development and subsequently perform more extensive due diligence are the subject of the Project Estimator Training Level. The next three (3) site development processes (#2, #3, and #4) in this Training Level are covered in one module each.

Project Expediter Level Training

After site selection and distribution of detailed information about the selected site the project team becomes fully engaged. Each member performs its own specific due diligence work. The fifth (5th) Site Acquisition Process is addressed in Module Sixteen (16), the sixth (6th) Site Acquisition Process in Module Seventeen (17), the seventh (7th) Site Acquisition Process in Module Eighteen (18), and the eighth (8th) in Modules Nineteen (19) and Twenty (20). We call this work Project Initiation and the Project Expediter Training Level because the emphasis on the team is for each discipline to complete their own due diligence work in a timely manner to support acquisition of space rights and local permit rights allowing for construction without delays.

Leasing Agent Level Training

The Leasing Agent Training Level focuses on all aspects of securing space rights. In this level of training Ninth (9th) Site Development Process encompasses Modules Twenty-One (21) thru Twenty-six (26) and Tenth (10th) Site Development Process is covered by Module Twenty-Seven (27)

Local Permit Consultant Training

The Local Permit Consultant Training Level focuses on securing local permit rights. In this level of training the eleventh (11th) Site Development Process is supported by Modules Twenty-Eight (28) and Twenty-Nine (29). The Twelfth (12th) Site Development Process is supported by Modules Thirty (30) and Thirty-One (31). The Thirteen (13th) Site Development Process is addressed in Module Thirty-Two (32)

Project Manager Level Training/          Summary, Conclusion and Epilogue

The Fourteenth (14th) Site Acquisition Process is the Project Manager Training Level. It is a Summary of all of the above in Module Thirty-Three (33) followed by a short Conclusion (Project Close-Out) and a Customer Service perspective as the Epilogue
