Module 20 Notes

Topic 4-

  1. The same type of engineering drawing is generated for point-to-point microwave paths to verify a line-of-sight view between elevated microwave antennas at both ends of a microwave path. The purpose is to confirm a line of sight clear of obstacles and to establish the antenna height above ground level at each end of the path. For instance, it is good to note that over a twenty-mile level, the unforested surface of the earth, antennas need to be elevated about two hundred feet above ground level on each end to achieve an unobstructed line-of-sight path due to the curvature of the earth.
