Summary, Conclusion, and Epilogue

Summary (Project Manager’s Training)

Track, expedite, and document the progress of events leading to the acquisition of all real property entitlements necessary to build and operate wireless infrastructure.

Now that the processes to complete space rights and local permit rights entitlements have been discussed to their conclusion I’d like to float some project management concepts that can be helpful to the site acquisition consultant. In recent years, the wireless industry has begun to employ more certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs) to manage deployment projects than in the past. Today, a PMP designation is highly valued. Project management science is well worth your study.

The ability to manage multiple projects and expedite milestone completions, as discussed in Module 1 Industry Structure, ranks high on the list of site acquisition consultant disciplines. Project management is a skill that can be applied to diverse disciplines without prior expertise or technical knowledge in the field. Understanding the structure of the project sequence can keep your thinking organized in the midst of chaos. Further, project management is a language unto itself; it is the language of organization, execution, and quality control.
